The notification drawer

The bell in the top bar is your in-app inbox. A number on it shows how many unread notifications you have; open the drawer to see them, newest first.

What shows up here

Each notification has an icon for its type:

  • Event updates — when an event you’re on is rescheduled, moved to another room, or cancelled. You get these when you’re the event’s manager, a participant, or on its team — but never for a change you made yourself. Clicking one opens that event.
  • What’s new — a short note when a new version of Venvy ships. Clicking it opens a summary of what changed.

Admins may also send announcements, which appear here for everyone.

How notifications clear

Notifications are marked read (and the bell’s count goes down) in two ways:

  • Open the drawer and leave it open for a few seconds — glancing at it and closing right away won’t clear anything, so you won’t lose track of something you meant to come back to.
  • Click an individual notification — that one is marked read as it takes you where it points.

Read notifications stay in the drawer for a while as history; only unread ones count toward the bell. This is separate from the emails Venvy sends — the drawer is in-app only.
