Signing in

Go to the sign-in page and enter your email address and password. Once signed in, you land on the Home page — see Getting around for a tour.

The sign-in page has a Remember me tick box.

  • Tick it and you stay signed in on that device after you close your browser, so you can come back later without signing in again.
  • Leave it off — this is the default — and closing your browser ends the session. The next visit asks you to sign in.

Leave it off on a shared, public, or borrowed computer. That way, closing the browser is enough to make sure the next person can't reach your account.

The choice applies only to the browser you make it in. Ticking it on your laptop doesn't affect your phone, and each sign-in asks again. It also never overrides anything else: signing out, resetting your password, or having your account disabled ends the session straight away, and a long spell without using Venvy still signs you out however you ticked it.

If you're asked to sign in more often than you expect

Section titled “If you're asked to sign in more often than you expect”

Two situations look like Remember me not working, but aren't:

  • You opened Venvy from a link inside another app. Tapping a link in your email, messages, or a chat app often opens it in that app's own built-in browser, which keeps its sign-ins separately and usually forgets them when you close the app. Open Venvy in your normal browser — and bookmark it there — if you want to stay signed in.
  • You're on a different address. If your venue also uses a testing version of Venvy, signing in on one doesn't sign you in on the other; they keep entirely separate accounts and data. Check the address in your browser's bar.

Your browser's own settings can also override this. Some are set to clear everything on close, and private or incognito windows always forget you.

There are two ways to get an account:

  • Register yourself. Choose Create one on the sign-in page and enter your name, email, and a password (at least 12 characters, and not one that has appeared in a known data breach). Venvy then emails you a verification link — it works once and expires after 24 hours. Open it to activate your account, then sign in. Sign-up belongs to a venue, so it lives under that venue's own address, venvyapp.com/your-venue/register, where your venue's name takes the place of your-venue. If your venue has turned sign-up off, that page says so and you'll need an invitation instead.
  • Accept an invitation. If an Admin invites you, you receive an email with an invitation link. Follow it and set a password — your account is active immediately, with no separate verification step, because the invitation already proves you own the email address. Invitation links are single-use and expire after a few days; if yours has lapsed, ask the Admin to send a fresh one.

Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page and enter your email. If an account exists, you receive a reset link — it works once and expires quickly. Follow it to set a new password. Resetting signs you out everywhere else, so sign in again on your other devices.

  • "Incorrect email or password" — check for typos, or use the password reset above. You'll also see this message if you registered but haven't verified your email yet — check your inbox.
  • Verification link expired or already used — register again with the same email to get a fresh link.
  • "Too many attempts" — wait a moment, then try again.
  • Account disabled — contact an Admin at your venue to restore access.
